GESMATIK Surgical Shoes Delivery and Return control

GESMATIK is the solution to bring efficiency to the dispensing and return of surgical clogs. Logistic management of sanitary footwear in hospitals involves a series of processes that demand time from valuable Hospital profesionals, such as:

  • Reception at the hospital of clean surgic clogs.
  • Storage of these shoes.
  • Delivery of the surgical clogs to the health personnel.
  • Centralised collection of used/contaminated clogs.
  • Collection of used clogs by cleaning services for washing/sanitisation.

This process, when carried out manually, may cause irregularities that not only affect the costs, organization but also can compromise the guarantee safety and hygiene at the hospital:

  • Improper use of surgic clogs (e.g. taking them out of the hospital for private use).
  • Removal of the wrong size from the general warehouse and return of the pair of clogs, messing up the warehouse.
  • Abandonment of used surgic shoes anywhere in changing rooms or other areas of the hospital (with associated contamination risks).

GESMATIK has designed the ideal technologic solution for the management of surgical clogs, consisting of a combination of three modules:

  • GESMATIK Control Module: where the user identifies himself and the system controls each operation of delivery and return.
  • GESMATIK HELIX Plus Delivery Module: is an advanced kind of vending machine which houses the clean clogs organized by size. For more capacity, it is possible to make single, double or triple machines.
  • GESMATIK CYKLA Return Module: is the automated container for the controlled return of clogs.
  • GESMATIK SOFTWARE: in the cloud, with real-time information on each dispensing and return operation, and balance per user, stock control, alarm control (full container, limit overpassed, stock out …..).

The way it works is very effective and simple:

  • Checking the right to withdraw clogs: the healthcare personnel identify themselves in the control module (through their personal code or by employee RFID card), the system checks if the user is authorized and checks that they have not exceeded their authorized product balance/credit. This balance can be daily, weekly, etc…
  • Delivery: If access to is authorised and credit is available for the user, the display on the control module prompts to select size and the system dispenses your pair of clogs.
  • Return: after the use of the clogs, the user logs in again in the control module, selects the return function, causing the Cykla module return door to open. Clogs are returned and the user closes the door. The system registers it and increases the credit of 1pair of shoes for this user.
  • Container emptying: the container sends the cleaning services the alert to proceed with emptying. The system has two removable trolleys with wheels for easy logistics.
